Welcome to Second Quarter! All make up work for the first quarter is due no later than October 26, 2009 for "A" days and October 27, 2009 for "B" days.
1. We will read and annotate the following essays in class.
Read George Orwell, Shooting an Elephant.
Read, annotate, abstract, and contextual connection in your composition book
5. For A Day only; You will be watching the beginning of hamlet in class. You need to take notes on what things other characters do to persuade Hamlet to carry out his actions. I would suggest a full page of facts in your composition books be kept by the end of the movie. I wold also suggest that you create a section of notes based on each character and their role in the movie related to Hamlet. We will analyze the rhetorical devises used to help hamlet to make his very difficult decision where the quote "To e or not ot be." comes from. This will eventually turn into an essay so you will want to take great care in paying attention to what you are viewing. Summary 1. 1 page of notes from the movie 2. Section notes by Character
