3. What is Persuasion?
  • This presentation is from an online search on persuasion. I really like how it goes into depth as to what persuasion is and why it is important. I hope you find as much enjoyment in reading through this as I did.
  • In your groups, please create a five minute in class presentation on the different elements mentioned within your group's slide sheet.
  • Answer the four questions on the back side of the sheet in relation to learning about persuasion
  • Take notes in your composition book on the other presentations given in class.
  • Do what you can to show how your elements helped to persuade the main characters of Hamlet to avenge his fathers death or in Shooting an Elephant, to shoot and kill the elephant.


4. For B Day only;You will be watching the beginning of Hamlet in class. You need to take notes on what things other characters do to persuade Hamlet to carry out his actions. I would suggest a full page of facts in your composition books be kept by the end of the movie. I would also suggest that you create a section of notes based on each character and their role in the movie related to Hamlet. We will analyze the rhetorical devises used to help Hamlet to make his very difficult decision where the quote "To be or not ot be." comes from. This will eventually turn into an essay so you will want to take great care in paying attention to what you are viewing. 1) page of notes from the movie 2) Section notes by Character
