It also somewhat shows that Altas song is boasting the sports mostly football which i can see for example "lead our team to victory" and so forth. I never even knew any of the lyrics until now. After being challenged to figure out why its important to know the song and have pride in what its says i have learned that it was created to help us. Even though we mainly just sing the song at football games it doesn't just relate to sports. The song tells us to proud of what we accomplish, whether it be making it to state, or getting an "A" on a test or never missing a day of class it doesn't matter. Until this assignment, I would just sing it like everybody else after a touchdown. I never actually thought about what the words meant. My favorite piece of advice is when it says "we've set our goals we will achieve and proud traditions we shall leave." I like it because not only is setting goals important, but achieving them is where the real success will come. If you look at the lyrics closely you can see how it can be insparational at parts.  Songs in general get people wired up whether it is at a football game or in the car.  The only time I ever hear anyone sing this is at a football game but it does not mean it is a bad song.  Sometimes a school song hits people at different times like any other song. The last line of the first verse reads, "Our black and silver in the sun will show we are number one!" and that is exactly what our school, as a student body, strives to be. Another line of the first verse states "Our spirit's high, that is the key to lead our team to victory!" In the past, Alta has received the reputation of having one of the most enthusiastic crowds ever seen. We take pride in our school and are crazy about showing it!
